A Message from Our Owner, Leonard Romeo

Welcome to Romeo Auto Group! My journey in the automotive business began almost 50  years ago with a small, rented corner lot in South Glens Falls. Over the years, through dedication, growth, and an unwavering commitment to our customers and communities, we have expanded to eight dealerships across Kingston and Glens Falls.

Our Story

• Founded Carriage Traders, a used car operation, which grew into a full-service dealership with a body shop and service department in 1982.
• Entered the new car business in 1999 by acquiring a Buick Pontiac dealership in Kingston, followed by the GMC franchise in 2002.
• Continued expansion, including purchasing multiple dealerships: 
  • 2005: Buick Pontiac GMC Cadillac in Catskill
  • 2009: Chevrolet Buick GMC franchise in Kingston
  • 2012: Acquired and then relocated Romeo Kia of Kingston
  • 2018: Purchased Romeo Ford of Kingston and Romeo Collision Center
  • 2020: Opened Romeo Toyota of Glens Falls
  • 2021: Launched Romeo Auto Outlet in Queensbury
  • 2022: Acquired Romeo Volkswagen of Kingston
  • 2023: Purchased Kingston Nissan, now Romeo Nissan
  • 2025: Acquired Chevrolet in Glens Falls
  • 2025: Purchased Saratoga Ford & Subaru         

Family-Owned and Operated

At Romeo Auto Group, family is at the heart of everything we do. My wife and I have been married for 45 years, and all four of our children play vital roles in the business:

• Lucia Romeo – Corporate Counsel, overseeing legal, compliance, and HR matters.
• Joe Romeo – General Manager, Romeo Chevy Buick GMC, Nissan, Kia, VW & Ford.
• Mike Romeo – General Manager of Carriage Traders, Romeo Toyota, Romeo Auto Outlet, Romeo Cheverolet of Glens Falls, Romeo Subaru, and Romeo Ford of Saratoga.
• Genese Romeo – Director of our Business Development Center (BDC), managing sales and service leads for all stores.

• The Romeo Toy Drive and Dinner, providing toys and meals for 200 children and families.
• Sponsorship of Little League teams, the Dutchess County Fair, and the Kingston Maritime Museum Day.
• Major sponsorships for the Moreau Community Center, St. Baldrick’s cancer research, and the South Glens Falls Marathon Dance.
• Annual car donations for fundraisers benefiting local schools and hospitals.
